Meet Sky! (Lead Biologist)

Meet Sky! A true Florida native born in Sarasota, Sky has been with Sarasota Bay Explorers since 2022. Sky studied locally and at New College, earning a Bachelor of Biology. After graduation, Sky completed an internship with the Student Conservation Association as a Community Ambassador at DeSoto National Memorial, gaining valuable experience educating the public about wildlife. Sky’s favorite wildlife are mollusks, including lightning whelks and sea hares.

Meet Brie!

Brie joined Sarasota Bay Explorers in August 2025. She graduated from the University of Alabama in December 2024 with a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Science and a minor in Geology. During her studies, she worked in biochemistry and geology labs and spent a summer studying on Dauphin Island, Alabama, gaining hands-on experience in the bay and the Gulf. Her favorite marine animal is the Hawksbill Sea Turtle, admired for its specialized beak and beautiful shell scutes.

Meet Megan!

Megan is a marine science professional passionate about conservation and education. She holds degrees in Biology from Kansas State University and Marine Resources Management from Everglades University. Her experience includes coral husbandry and Sea Turtle Patrol with Mote Marine Laboratory, aquarium education, and animal-care support. Megan enjoys gardening, kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving, and searching for shark teeth. She especially loves unusual marine life, including tunicates, nudibranchs, sea urchins, and cowfish, and enjoys helping SBE guests connect with marine conservation.

Meet Jamie!

Originally from Richmond, Virginia, Jamie earned a B.S. in Marine Science with a concentration in Biology and a minor in Environmental Studies from Eckerd College. Passionate about marine life and ocean conservation, Jamie enjoys fishing—especially shark fishing—surfing, snorkeling, and creating nature-inspired art. Sharks are Jamie’s favorite animals, followed by rays, sea robins, and other unusual marine creatures. At SBE, Jamie loves educating guests, promoting environmental awareness, and helping others connect with the ocean and its wildlife.

Meet Chloe!

Chloe earned a B.S. in Marine Science with a minor in Biology and has supported wildlife research, conservation, and education with FWC, Mote Marine Laboratory, Disney, and SeaWorld. Her work has taken her from Florida to Alaska, where she led expeditions aboard a tour vessel. Chloe is especially passionate about dolphins and whales, including belugas and sperm whales. Part of the SBE and LeBarge family since 2016, she loves helping guests connect with nature and observe wildlife in its natural habitat.
